Balaji Mandir: This is one of the most famous temples here, dedicated to Lord Balaji. Located in the picturesque Seminary Hills, this temple also houses an idol of Lord Kartikeya and is an ideal place for meditation.
Ambazari Lake: Surrounded by a beautiful garden, this lake is the hub of family outings, and picnics. You can enjoy the boating options on the lake or simply take a walk around the paved pathway. The musical fountain is an added highlight of the area.
Sitabuldi Fort: Built in 1857, the Sitabuldi Fort now houses houses the office of the Territorial Army, and a memorial to the soldiers who laid their lives during the Maratha-English war.
Tekdi Ganapathi Temple: One of the most popular temples in Nagpur, it derives its name from the tekdi or hill on which it is located. The idol within is believed to have come up and grown on its own. The idol is adorned with gold and silver jewellery - a mukut is displayed only on special occasions. This temple is said to be a Jagrutha Devasthan, hence it remains crowded from early morning to midnight. Prayers and aartis are done thrice in a day, following which, the Modak, Lord's favourite sweet is distributed amongst devotees.
Raman Science Center: Located opposite the Gandhi Sagar, this Science Centre is well worth a visit. This place is especially fascinating for children as they can view various exhibits and models that demonstrate physical phenomena and other scientific materials.
Seminary Hills: Named after the Seminary of St. Charles, the hills are located in a picturesque and quiet part of the city. A Deer Park and the Japanese Garden are where you should head out to. Do visit the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, also known as the Grotto.
Maharaja Baug/Botanical Gardens and Zoo: These are the lush green gardens of the Bhonsle Rulers. These constitute well laid-out gardens, which now house a zoo home to a variety of exotic wildlife. Botanical Gardens are where you can see some rare animal and bird species and relax under the thick cover forest cover.
Sri Poddareshwar Ram Mandir: This gorgeous temple is made of marble and sandstone carvings. This temple houses the deities of the three principal characters of the holy epic Ramayana - Rama, Sita and Laxmana. This temple is especially crowded during the Ram Navami celebrations, when shobha yatras are held with a huge procession of scenes from Ramayana being depicted.
Gandhi Baug: This is a sprawling garden named after Mahatma Gandhi and is perfect for that evening stroll or a walk in the garden.
Hegdewar Smriti Temple: This magnificent memorial is built in the memory of Dr. Headgevar, an eminent personality of Nagpur and is located at the Reshimbaug Maidan.
Dragon Palace Temple: This is a Buddhist shrine visited by Buddhist pilgrims from all over. The temple houses a statue of Lord Buddha in a meditating posture.
Pench National Parkr: Located almost 65 kms from Nagpur, the Pench Natinal Park is home to an interesting array of wildlife species including the much elusive tiger.
Sevagram: This is where Mahatma Gandhi spent his last years. The Bapu Kutir, Adi Nivas and many other houses in the ashram bear the memories of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi.
Ramtek: Located 48 kms from Nagpur, this site has several temples dedicated to Lord Rama and Lakshmana. Legends have it that Lord Rama passed this way during his period of exile. Also visit the foothills where Lake Ramsagar flows. It is said that it was here that the famous Sanskrit poet Kalidas wrote his epic 'Meghdoota'.
