Monkey Point: This is one of the highest points in Kasauli at a distance of 4 kms from Kasauli Bus Stand. Legend has it that when Hanuman was returning from the Himalayas after obtaining the Magical Herb, his foot touched the hill and thus the top of hill is in the shape of a foot. A temple dedicated to Hanuman rests atop the hill and is visited by a number of pilgrims all year round. It also offers excellent views of the Chandigarh region and the River Satluj. The best views can well be had on a clear and starry night.

Sanawar: Located 6 kms from Kasauli at an altitude of 1750 m, Sanawar is home to the Christ Church which rests amidst serene surroundings. Dating almost 150-years, this church is surrounded by a grove of chestnut and fir trees. Sanawar also houses some of the best and renowned schools in Himachal Pradesh., the most famous being Lawrence School founded by Sir Henry M. Lawrence and his wife Honoria.

Dharampur: The tiny town of Dharampur is located at a distance of 15 kms from Kasauli. Include a day or two extra on your itinerary and head out to Dharampur, which is amidst pine trees and valleys. The town is also well known to have one of the best hospitals in India for the cure of tuberculosis.
Dagshai: This is a tiny cantonment located almost 16 kms away. Once, it used to be a prominent picnic spot for the British. Today, it comprises of a military public school and numerous military barracks. For nature-lovers, it also offers striking walk options through the oak and pine forests.
Baba Balak Nath Temple: Located atop the Graner Hill, this temple is frequented by childless couples seeking blessings. Legend has it that on a full moon night Baba Balak Nath appeared in a dream to a local resident named Vijay Kumar and asked him to built a temple where the present temple now rests.

Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir: Built by the Sai Sudha Trust in 1989 the Shirdi Sai Baba Mandir is located half a kilometer away from Garkhal. It is famous for the temple where numerous people pay homage to the idol of Sai Baba. A constant burning flame in the temple symbolizes the divine power of Sai Babaji of Shirdi. |
