Family Must-Do's
Undoubtedly one of the most enchanting cities in North East India, Guwahati is an ideal place to spend a fun-filled holiday with the entire family. Popularly known as the Gateway to the North East, the town is a family-destination too. With its exotic beaches, serene river islands, dense tropical forests, lovely natural lakes and rolling hills it is a paradise for any holidaying family. Adding spirituality to the place are its numerous beehive shaped temples and the holy and mighty Brahmaputra. The place has everything to make you come back to it again and again.

Things to See
  • Kaziranga National Park: Wild residence of the rare one-horned rhinoceros. A UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Kaziranga is home to a large number of wild animals and birds. It’s also the second home for a large number of migratory birds too. Children would be delighted to go for a bird-watching trip.

  • Manas Tiger Reserve: Official residence of the Big Cat! Another World Heritage site, this Tiger Reserve is situated on the banks of River Manas. It inhabits other rare animals too, including the rare Indian one-horned rhino. A must-go with kids, they’d simply love to watch these majestic beings on the prowl.

  • Kamakhya Temple: Temple of Desire! A well known tantric temple, it is dedicated to Devi Kamakhya, the goddess of desire. Built in the tenth century, the temple is located on the top of Nilachal hill. It is believed that animal sacrifices are made here to appease the Devi.
