Getting There

By air: Coonoor does not have an airport of its own and the closest would be in Coimbatore, located 71 kms away. Cabs are available to reach the city.

By Rail: Coonoor lies on the toy-train line between Mettupalayam (34 km) and Ooty (19 km). The toy train leaves Mettupalayam for Ooty and halts at Coonoor en route. Avoid this during rains since the train service has chances of getting disrupted. Alternatively you can take the train from Coimbatore which takes around 3 hours to reach Coonoor.

By Road: Coonoor has an excellent road network that links it with other important cities in south India - Bangalore via Ooty and Coimbatore via Mettupalayam. There is a regular transportation service that links it to important places of Tamil Nadu mostly by the State and Govt. run buses that ply regularly to and fro.
