It was once the stronghold of the Chauhan Rajputs, before being taken over by the Mughals and finally the British. And instances of their presence are felt in the elements they endowed this region with―including the interesting Ajmer Museum, the cultivation of fragrant roses for Nur Jahan's attar and the extremely well-known Mayo College.
