By air: The nearest airport is in Cochin located 90 kms from Alleppey. Pre-paid taxis are available from here to reach Alleppey.
By Rail: Alleppey Station is the closest railhead connected well to Chennai.
By Road: It is best not to venture out on a drive to Alleppey, since the route proves to be extremely long and tedious. If you must, Kottayam is within driving distance from Alleppey.
By Boat: An exceptional way to reach Alleppey would be on a backwater cruise. There are regular public ferries to Kottayam and Changanassery (3 hr, 2 daily). The DTPC office is at the Tourist Reception Centre; the ATDC office is on Kamala Rd from where you can gather more information.
