Shopping Delights

Definitely no shopping malls, but you can pick up some unique local made goods. Coorg is most known for its coffee produce, local spices like nutmeg, pepper and cardamom, available at the Friday Market. You can pick up some of the locally produced honey from Kakkabe. The shopping center at Kushal Nagar is an excellent place for browsing and bargaining for Tibetan artifacts. Known for its unique drape with pleats at the back, the Coorg Silk Sari is available at the plenty of sari shops in the region. Local food specialties like Pandhi, Koli, Kadumbuttu, and Noolputu are also good buys. Try and pick up some of the most delicious oranges in season and wild honey sold on the way to River Kaveri.
