Coorg offers some of the most exotic cuisines of the South region and most hotels have their in-house restaurants. Coorg cuisine includes a lot of coconut, curry leaves, ginger, chilly and of course the local spices grown here. Visit the Coorg Cuisinette, located below the KSRTC bus stand for kadambuttu (rice balls) served with pork or chicken. The restaurant at the Alath-Cad Holiday Retreat is another great place to try out local cuisine. The Granary also serves traditional Coorg food from its fixed menu. A little outside of town, is Hotel Coorg International, which has one of the best multi-cuisine restaurants in the region. With a jungle like décor it offers a delectable selection of Indian, Chinese and Continental. On M.G. Road, below Raja's Seat is Restaurant Rajdarshan, a place that serves Indian and Chinese cuisine and a fine place for a quick bite. Do try out their special palak paneer (spinach along with cottage cheese)..
