Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit this southern city is from November to February, while the city is experiencing a pleasant winter spell. You can enjoy the chill in the air and take in a lot more attractions in and around the city than you would in any other season.

Clothing:You don't need to carry any special clothes here except for rain gear if you’re planning to visit Chennai during monsoon. Otherwise casual cotton clothes will work in the humidity of Chennai, and a few pairs of heavy woollens will work during winters.

Moving around: Chennai has a good network of public transport throughout the city. Metered and unmetered autorickshaws and buses ply quite regularly, and will be just enough to let you move around within the city.
