Editor's Note
Often described as India's Wild West, Kutch or Kachchh is a district in Gujarat and is the largest district in India. Kutch literally means something that erratically becomes wet and dry. A big part of this district, the Rann of Kutch, is a shallow wetland that gets submerged in water during the rainy season and becomes extremely dry in other seasons. Kutch is a fascinating part of India where its history is concerned. The Indus Valley Civilisation developed here and several towns belonging to this civilisation are found here. Home to a scattered group of tribes and sub-castes, Kutch is also well-known for its handicrafts and embellished textiles. What’s more, our very own Wild West is popular for a number of adventure activities, as well! Adventure enthusiasts can get their adrenaline roaring with jeep or camel safaris across Rann of Kutch. Hot-air ballooning is also a must-do adventure activity while in Kutch. Adventure lovers can also indulge in para-motoring, ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) rides, and rifle shooting.
