Amazing Tawang Summer Holiday Special - Itinerary
Day 1: Guwahati - Bhalukpong (05 to 06 hours)
Meals: Dinner
Meet upon arrival by our representative. After a brief narration, you will start for the journey towards the high hills of Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute stop for freshen up at restaurant having proper toilet facility.
Arrive Bhalukpong and check in at your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure
Overnight at Bhalukpong hotel.
Day 2: Bhalukpong - Dirang (07 hours drive)
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Morning after breakfast drive straight to Dirang en-route stop for lunch at Bomdila and visit to Bomdila Monastery. Arrive Dirang and explore the very beautiful landscape of famous Sangti Valley (Suitable for Hiking, short trek, nature walk etc)
Overnight at Dirang hotel.
Day 3: Dirang - Tawang (05 to 06 hours drive)
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Today after breakfast drive to Tawang via Sela Pass (4120 m) about 6 hrs and 180 kms the with beautiful mountain views all-around taking the beautiful glance of beautiful Sela Lake. While reaching closer to Tawang one can see the beautiful monastery from for away with fantastic views. Tawang is located at 3300 m altitude and approximately 40,000 inhabitants. Its main attraction is its great monastery where 400 Lamas are living. It is the birthplace of the sixth Tsangyang Gyatso Dalai Lama (1683 - 1706) and it is this city that the current Dalai Lama came from Tibet. The library with ancient manuscripts is particularly remarkable as the great hall which houses a huge golden statue of Buddha.
Day 4: In Tawang
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
After an early breakfast visit of Ptso Lake/Sangestar Lake (Popularly known as Madhuri Lake, named after Madhuri Dixit which was casted in a famous hindi film called "Koila") and later to 400 years (17th century) old Tawang Monastery which is the second largest monastery in the world after Potala Palace in Tibet. The building is about 113 feet longhand 80 feet wide and houses valuable antiquities, books and manuscripts-handwritten and printed & Tawang War Memorial, a 40 foot high multi-hued memorial, has a structure constructed in stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of Sino-Indo War held in 1962, this memorial is nestled among beautiful peaks, which overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. Rest of the day free to stroll round the streets of the town.
Day 5: Tawang - Bhalukpong (290 kms/10-11 hrs.)
Meals: Breakfast and Dinner
Today after an early breakfast drive back to Bhalukpong enroute stop at Dirang for lunch and proceed further to Bhalukpong.
Note: Today it will be a long drive with a stopover for lunch in the midway i.e Dirang
Overnight at Bhalukpong hotel.
Day 6: Bhalukpong - Guwahati departure (05 to 06 hours)
Meals: Breakfast Only
Morning after breakfast transfer straight to Guwahati Airport to catch flight back home.
